This
project
involved
an
addition
to
the
existing
building
and
a
significant
amount
of
demolition
and
renovations.
To
minimize disruption to the school's operations, we implemented the project in four major logical construction phases.
The
result
is
a
stunning
1,200-student
high
school
that
boasts
a
brand
new
two-story
freshman
academy
and
a
three-story
upper
academy
wing,
complete
with
a
striking
cantilevered
glass-boxed
library
designed
to
serve
the
needs
of
all
students
within
the
building.
In
addition
to
these
new
features,
we
also
completely
renovated
the
existing
gymnasium,
auditorium,
and
pool
spaces,
and
constructed
a
new
cafeteria
that
takes
full
advantage
of
the
beautiful
views
overlooking
the
athletic
fields.
Site
improvements
were
also
made,
including
revisions
to
the
traffic
flow
that
separates
car
and
school
bus
traffic,
directing students to the two main entry points of the school.
In
order
to
distinguish
the
new
building
additions
from
the
existing
structure
and
enhance
their
modern
appeal
from
the
street
view,
we
made
the
deliberate
choice
to
use
ironspot
brick
and
metal
panels.
As
design
architects
for
this
project,
we
at
ArchiChord
take
great
pride
in
having
collaborated
closely
with
Antinozzi
Associates
to
bring
this
vision
to
life.
The
outcome has exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled with the project's successful results.
