Cooper Surgical Lab & Warehouse
ArchiChord was hired to design a new architectural wonder that would function as an annex of the Tech & Lab office and warehouse facility for the Cooper Surgical headquarters building situated on a hill. The headquarters building was the work of Seung Hyeon Park, the founder of the ArchiChord office. The new structure includes a large 20,000 sq.ft. office space for engineers and a vast 60,000 sq.ft. warehouse. The main design aim was to create a campus that blended seamlessly with the form of the existing headquarters building, creating a cohesive look for the entire Cooper Surgical Corporate estate. To achieve this, the warehouse was curved with a smooth, fluid line that matched the headquarters building’s aesthetic appeal while ensuring optimal functionality. The exterior facade materials for the office space were a balanced mix of glass and metal frames, mirroring the headquarters building’s design. On the other hand, insulated metal panels were selected for the warehouse section, ensuring optimal insulation and energy efficiency. To increase the elegance, one side of the warehouse facing the street was made as a stunning glass wall, providing a clear view of the surrounding scenery while creating a uniform and seamless appearance with the office building.
